Jimmy Burgess
Rev. Jimmy Burgess currently serves Mud Creek Baptist Church as Worship Associate and Men’s Ministry Director. Before joining the Music Ministry staff, Jimmy served as the Minister of Music for Southside Baptist Church in Honea Path, SC. Jimmy earned an Associate of Church Ministries  degree from Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, where he was president of the student body.  He also holds a bachelor and masters degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, completing his work in 2009. Jimmy is a member of the Music Ministry Worship Team and men’s liaison for the Worship Choir. Originally from Belton, SC, Jimmy now resides in Hendersonville with his wife, Treva, son, Avery, and daughter, Kendall.

 

Kenny Corn
Rev. Kenny Corn has been faithfully serving on the ministerial staff at Mud Creek Baptist Church for over twelve years. With over twenty years of ministry experience, Kenny is now the Associate Pastor of Church Campus Operations at Mud Creek Baptist Church. He exercises his gifts and ministry experience in the areas of benevolence, support, and information technology. Kenny also provides essential support to the Music Ministry staff through his musical expertise and participation in the Mud Creek Worship Orchestra. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gardner-Webb University, and Master of Arts from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Corn serves as Professor of Church Growth at Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute.  Kenny resides in Hendersonville with his wife, Ginger, and two sons, Tyler and Dawson, both of whom are students at UNCC.
 
 
Jennifer Goode
Jennifer Goode has been a member of the Mud Creek Baptist Church family since 1990. She has been singing as long as she can remember, and traveled with many east coast choirs from First Baptist Church Youth to the Hendersonville High School Chorus. At Mars Hill College, Jennifer was an All State first place soprano for two years. She was a teacher at Mud Creek Christian School for four years, and also taught the Mud Creek Baptist Church Preschool Choir for four years. Jennifer toured as part of the Christian music trio “3 for 1”, and currently serves as part of the Mud Creek Baptist Church Worship Team. She has been married for over twenty years to her husband, Tim, and is the proud mother of four children: Tyler, Trey, Julianna, and Lydia.
 
 
Kim Greene
Kim Greene has many years of experience in music ministry, and is a valuable asset to the Mud Creek Music Ministry staff. Prior to joining Mud Creek Baptist Church, Kim served as pianist at Tuxedo First Baptist Church and interim Minister of Music at Mills River Baptist Church. She has traveled with two Christian music groups, the trio “3 for 1” and the duo “To Know.” Kim has been a faithful Worship Choir member at Mud Creek for over fourteen years, serves as Soprano liaison for the choir, and sings weekly with the Worship Team. She is married to Dean Greene, who serves as deacon at Mud Creek Baptist Church. Kim, Dean, and children, Dylan and Kaylie, currently live in Hendersonville.
 

 

Jean Hefner
Jean Hefner has served as Music Assistant at Mud Creek Baptist Church for over five years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Millsaps College, Jackson, MS (cum laude, honors, 2002) and a Master of Public Affairs degree from Western Carolina University (2005). Jean serves as administrator for the music and worship ministries, alto section liaison for the Worship Choir, as well as a member of the Worship Team. Jean’s creative gifts are also valuable to Mud Creek Baptist Church through her role as publication design specialist. Originally from Hammond, Louisiana, Jean moved to North Carolina in 2003 when she married Rev. Chris Hefner, Minister of Missions and Evangelism at Mud Creek Baptist Church. They now reside in Zirconia, NC.
 

 

Deborah Mathis
Deborah Mathis is a very special part of the music ministry staff.  Deborah and her husband, Dr. Greg Mathis, Senior Pastor, have served faithfully at Mud Creek Baptist Church for nearly 30 years.  During this time, Deborah has filled the position of church organist for may of these years.  With over 40 years of music ministry experience, she is an invaluable asset to the music ministry staff.  In addition to serving as church organist, Deborah also assists in the Mud Creek Baptist Church Kidz Choir.  She is the mother of three children, Alison, Jared, and Bret, and three grandchildren, Gavin, Presley, and Keaton.  Originally from Mount Airy, NC, Deborah now resides in Flat Rock, NC. 
 

 

Chris Roberts
Rev. Chris Roberts is currently in his seventh year as Associate Pastor of Music and Worship at Mud Creek Baptist Church. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sacred Music from Gardner-Webb University, (summa cum laude, 1986) and a Master of Church Music degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (1988). Chris' responsibilities at Mud Creek include overall leadership for the music, worship, and drama ministries for children, students, and adults. He has served as Minister of Music in churches in Virginia and North Carolina during his 20 years in local church ministry, and also served on the faculty of Gardner- Webb University as an Adjunct Instructor and later Instructor in Music from 1995-1999. Rev. Roberts currently serves as Professor of Music at Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute.  Chris has frequently served as worship leader for various workshops and conferences for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. A native of Asheville, NC, Chris is married to the former Janet Ballard, and they have two children, Tara and Nathan.  The Roberts reside in Flat Rock, NC.
 
 
Debbie Stansell
Debbie Stansell has been a member for Mud Creek Baptist Church for 15 years, and has been involved in ministry for over 30 years. In addition to serving as church pianist, she also directs the Kidz Choir ministry. Under her direction, the Kidz Choir presents a major musical each spring and appears in the annual Mud Creek Baptist Church Christmas Pageant. Debbie is a first grade teacher at Veritas Christian Academy in Fletcher, NC, where she directs both the middle and high school choirs. She studied Special Education at Winthrop University, and is currently completing this degree. Debbie is the mother of three children, Jessica Radlein, Philip Aldous, and Ranee Stepp, and grandmother of five. Originally from Charleston, SC, Debbie now resides in Hendersonville, NC.
