Hope Academy
 
Hope Academy is pleased to offer programs for individuals with special needs and their families.  The purpose of Hope Academy is to provide a fun, Biblically-based, structured, and safe environment for special needs individuals.  Hope Academy has daily activities that each student will enjoy.  Some activities include Bible time, music, structured PE, crafts, and computer lab.
 
The staff of Hope Academy strives to give special detail to stimulating activities that aid in mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional growth.  Please explore this site to learn more about the various programs of Hope Academy.  We appreciate the opportunity to minister to your special needs family member.

Hope Academy is pleased to have a staff with many years of experience in caring for individuals with special needs. 
 
Betty Edwards is the director of Hope Academy, and has over 30 years experience in working with children and adults with developmental disabilities and mental challenges.  Betty has worked with Trend Mental Health and Henderson County Public Schools.  In the public school system, Betty served as a teacher's aide in the special needs class and a bus driver.  Betty has worked with the Special Needs 4-H club and 4-H Treehouse, as well as Something Special 3rd Avenue workshop.  Betty also has experience serving as part of the Special Olympics for many years, both as a leader and a coordinator.
 
Peggy Allen has over 20 years of experience working with special needs children and adults.  Peggy served for 10 years as a volunteer for the Special Olympics.
 
Periodically, other individuals volunteer their time to serve in Hope Academy.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact the church office or the Hope Academy phone (808-4404).  All volunteers are interviewed and screened by a background check before serving in Hope Academy.
